Walking and Macro Pictures

IMG_0048I went on a Photowalk in the National Botanical Gardens today there was a great turn out and I really learned a lot about taking photos of things really close up …

Yesterday I spoke about the “Joy” of taking photographs and it was reinforced today too

This is Hillary the event organiser and Professional Photographer look at her expression … See that's what I mean.

Might have learned that Macro Tubes are great for in studio but hard to perfect outside with the wind moving the subject.

I wonder what else I will discover going to a few more of these I’ll definitely find out, should have been going to these all along

Anyway these are the “Best” of the ones I took today…

Send in the Clowns

I have been to a few places recently with Side Shows and even a Circus, I love the Carnival

Floriade @ 85mm

Today we went back to Floriade but to travel lighter I only took the lens mounted on my camera which as it turns out was my new 85mm f1.8.

Photos are not as Macro as our excursion on opening day but still pretty decent

Shoot the Shooter

A few weeks ago I took my Daughter to the opening of Floriade the Spring Flower Festival here in Canberra.

I took a few photos of people and zillions of flowers but I noticed something about the people who were taking photographs...

They were Smiling which got me thinking how many other photographers have the same look?

So today when were at Floriade again I started shooting shooters. Here is what I saw…

I guess the reason we shoot is because it is really quite enjoyable, well I think it is anyway.

Return to Roller Derby #CRDL

We went back to Roller Derby last night mostly because I wanted to try photographing sport and wanted to see how I went with decent light.

I now know just how much I have to learn but also how much fun it will be learning, given I don’t know what I don’t know I’d be happy for those who have feedback to provide it openly and honestly

Also any Derby Girl who wants copies let me know happy to send them along

The half time band was pretty good and I got a chance to talk with a few of them.

Funny how venue makes a difference with I was talking with the drummer he mentioned he is normally situated higher than the audience and in this stadium setting it was a different kind of gig from his now altered perspective
